Did some camping with friends this past Labor Day weekend.  Good times.  

Goodbye Sweet Abby

Had to say so long to our amazing dog this week.  It was the hardest and worst thing I have ever had to do.  Our family has suffered a huge loss and she is missed terribly.  Why is she missed so badly?  Because she was one of us.  She was one of us as much as anyone was.  My favorite thing about her was that where ever you were, she was.  Feeling her absence so strongly because of that.  She is not laying at my feet right now and I wish she was.

I'm Not Getting a Haircut

That is what Jamie said all day before she got her haircut.  A free haircut at JC Penny I might add.  Man I am a good deal finder......

Wasn't so sure about someone else washing her hair.  She tried to crawl in the sink like a bathtub at first.  

Jamie did great and her hair looks the same, just a little bit shorter, and healthier.  How cute is she right?

Pete Goes to Preschool

 Took our big kid to Meet the Teacher day yesterday.  Here she is.

Found his name on the birthday calendar and job board.  Peter.  Who is that?

 Getting to know his room.

 Met a new friend already.

If all else fails look for Pete at the computer.  That is his classroom assistant.

Is it crazy that I am nervous for him to go to school?  Where does the time go?  I am going to miss him, my sweet, happy little boy.

Cold

I have a picture like this, at this same park, on this same bench, that looks just like this from two summers ago when we lived here and summers were cold.  They are still cold.

Ok, I admit, it's a nice break from our Phoenix summer weather but it just reminds me that I don't like being cold.

Townsend Park

 The main reason I am still here in Michigan; cooler weather.

And getting to spend the day with Karen.

 And spending time outside with the best kid you have ever met.

 And watching the kids play in a creek on a perfectly beautiful day.

A Bean!

It's moments like these that I hope the kids remember about the time they spent with their grandparents when they were little.
